2.9.1                   The principle of “urgent – important”.

  • After a list of goals is compiled, it is important to establish priorities.
  • After a list of tasks is compiled, it is important to establish priorities.
  • Definition of a priority. 

 

    • A high priority task is both urgent and important. (A)
    • A medium priority task is either urgent or important, never both. (B)
    • A low priority task is neither urgent nor important. (C)

 

  • If you must accomplish a task, assess its importance according to the following:

No significant problems will arise if the task is not accomplished.

Problems will arise if the task is not accomplished.

Highly important

It is absolutely obligatory to accomplish the task.

 

    • Urgency

The task must be accomplished this week.
