2.10.1 What are time killers?
"Time killers" denote unimportant tasks or activities that directly or indirectly impede the performance of important or planned jobs. Often "time killer" is also a colleague who has dropped in for a five minute talk and has been idle talking for a half hour; tidying up the desk when an important job with a close deadline is pending, or an unexpected call disturbing the preparation of an important document. According to research on average we are disturbed once every 13 minutes due to various "time killers" (including those created by ourselves). Imagine the effect on job efficiency.... There are enterprises where the effective job efficiency of employees is only 10–20% of the potential.
