4.1       Why work-life balance?

  • Can a bird fly with one wing?
    • We talk about balance when the main areas are approximately at the same development level. None of the areas are essentially different, are essentially over or under developed compared with the others. None of the areas requires particular attention or energy and crises are rare.
  • What is the use of flying a plane without being able to manage it?
    • Being balanced means to lead and manage one's life. Flying a plane is the level you have not yet achieved. Maybe it's enough to drive a car?
  • Balance means independence and stability.
    • A person can hardly be called happy if he misses some things – money, family, relationship, self realization.
  • Being balanced means to be in certain harmony with oneself and the things around you.
    • If a person wakes up as star one morning, he/she must subject all future life to the level at which he/she is now. Being balanced means to do it and be in harmony with oneself.
  • Being balanced means to subject the system to the level of personal achievements and stay at this level.
    • Why are rock stars rising and falling? Being balanced implies a skill to stay at the achieved level. For example, a person can no longer perform on the stage in patched jeans – she/he will not be understood.
  • Balance is achieved gradually.
    • If we view life as a school, we see junior, middle and senior grades, teachers and academicians. It is impossible to become an academician immediately upon graduating from junior grades because it is necessary to go through the curriculum of the middle and senior grades. After studying basic subjects, and being rather good at them, we can go deeper into any subject. Life is our teacher in this case.
